Washington-Baltimore MSDG Travel Award Announcement

The Washington-Baltimore Mass Spectrometry Discussion Group will be awarding one or more grants to outstanding young investigators to support travel to the 2009 ASMS meeting in Philadelphia, PA. It is expected that one or more awards worth $500 will be made. The award is open to undergraduate and graduate students at all levels in laboratories and institutions traditionally associated with the Washington-Baltimore MSDG (approximate boundaries: Richmond and Charlottesville on the south and Newark, Delaware on the north). Applicants should submit an electronic copy (PDF or Word format preferred) of their ASMS abstract, an additional two page summary of their research project (figures can be included), a CV or resume, and a letter of recommendation from their advisor, to:

Applications should be submitted no later than May 8, 2009. A panel of senior MSDG members will act as reviewers and the awards will be announced in the third week of May, 2008. Successful applicants will be expected to present a 15-20 minute presentation at the post-ASMS poster session on June 15, 2009.
